Huge shoutout and thanks to everyone who joined our Azure webinar with Microsoft last month, “Unlock Free SQL Server Licenses and Hybrid DR with DH2i.”
We are thrilled to be given the opportunity to accompany Microsoft Principal Program Manager Kevin Farlee to show how SQL Server shops with Software Assurance can make the most of their free high availability and disaster recovery benefits using our SDP-enhanced clustering software, DxEnterprise.
For a recap of some of the common questions that we got asked about DxEnterprise, check out a brief summary of the Q&A session below.
Is DxEnterprise only applicable to SQL Server?
DxEnterprise not only supports SQL Server Always On availability groups as well as highly available SQL Server instances, but also any other application that runs as a service or group of services, containers or others.
Does it support on-premises deployments?
Yes, DxEnterprise supports any infrastructure whether in the cloud or on-premises. It can be used to manage workloads on any physical, virtual or cloud server.
Do we need to do anything with firewall configuration?
No, firewall changes are not required, and there are no firewall rules to maintain when using DxEnterprise’s advanced micro-tunneling technology.
How does DxEnterprise support SQL Server migrations from on-premises to the cloud?
Using DxEnterprise, you can easily create an availability group that spans from on-premises to the cloud, removing a lot of the complexity of transitioning your SQL Server database from your on-premises site to the cloud. And it does so without the use of VPNs, SD-WANS or open ports.
Can we use the tunneling feature to replicate a Hyper-V VM from on-premises to the cloud?
Yes, the micro-tunneling technology incorporated in DxEnterprise is also available as a standalone DH2i network connectivity product called DxOdyssey. You can learn more about our Software Defined Perimeter solution here: https://dh2i.com/dxodyssey/
